WAITING WAITING WAITING

SICK OF WAITING

So the time has come for a new hip. When I got my referral for my hospital appointment in February 2019 I was so happy thinking goodbye pain, goodbye limp, goodbye sleepless nights, how exciting.

But not to be I waited and waited month after month, I was prepared to wait but before I knew it six months had passed and no appointment, after calling the hospital I was told they had lost my referral. My GP sent another and verbalised her displeasure in the hospital.

So the waiting began again I finally got an appointment in November 2019 and had my pre-op on the 29th, I was so excited as I was told it would be not long till my operation, but I then found I was anaemic and was booked for an iron infusion so I waited a month for that.

Christmas and New Year came and went and I saw my surgeon late January who told me he would get me in very quickly.

February then came and you would believe it but I got a killer flu some thought I had COVID but who knows, it took a good six weeks to feel better and COVID-19 was here and lockdown began. Yep my op cancelled and the waiting game began yet again.

Lockdown ended and my excitement lifted only to be dashed again, I broke out in psoriasis something I had never had before. I was told that it had to clear before they would operate.

Months passed and finally I was psoriasis free. Back to the surgeon again but this time I had tooth pain I had an X-ray to confirm I had infected impacted wisdom teeth both bottom left and top right, I could not believe it.

Off to the dentist I went and was booked in for surgery to remove the teeth.

It is now 16th November 21 months since my first referral and I am still waiting. I feel healthy, my teeth are good, no psoriasis and I even dropped 7 kilos fingers crossed it all happens soon.

I guess it all happens for a reason but my patience is running low surely nothing else can go wrong keep your fingers crossed for me hahah
